"Hi Glenda, I am so sorry to pass along this obituary. Mr. Wilde passed away on Feb 14/08. He was a wonderful person and a great teacher. We will miss him at Marion Graham. Unfortunately he will not physically be with us at our reunion but I'm sure he will be there in spirit."
Obituaries (02/19/08)
DON WILDE Don passed away at Royal University Hospital on Thursday February 14th, 2008. Remember Don, when you are surrounded by the warmth of your family and friends. To help and serve others was Don's greatest purpose and joy. Don is survived by Terry his wife, partner and best friend. He will be so dearly missed by his son, Jon and step-daughters, Morgan, Sarah and Breanna and grandsons, Thomas and Brady.
Don loved being with young people, his nieces and nephews. They'd listen to music, make DVD's and hang out around the computer. Don was born and grew up in Regina and with pride remembered his years playing for the Rams. Teammates remain his friends today. Don attended the U of R and became a teacher in Southey. He moved to Saskatoon and taught at Mount Royal Collegiate. Don wasn't much older than his students in those days and he remains close friends with a special group of former students and their families. Don transferred to Marion Graham Collegiate and has been there since the school opened. His dedication to the students, staff and parents was his fuel. Coaching, pep rallies, Remembrance Day services, musicals and of course Light and Sound were his passion. He looked forward to the lunch gatherings with the Light and Sound crew. Foremost in Don's heart was his family. "What can I do for my sweetie today? " Don loved working in the garden with Terry, he watched and encouraged Jon at Badminton, and was always a guide and strength to Morgan, Sarah, Jon and Breanna. A Don and Terry evening was a music concert DVD on the big screen, singing and before long, dancing. At church, special music touched Don's heart and he sang the hymns with spirit and joy. Don was blessed by the care staff and doctors in the CCU. He touched them with his positive acceptance, his humour and inner strength. To Ron, my friend, thank you. Thank you to each of you who has walked in Don's life, you are part of the man he was. Paul McCartney would say "Let it be ".
