Hello all,
Greetings to all from Vancouver.
Unfortunatly I am a bit late to the MRCI site, life just tends to take over and we ignore things we should not.
Having said that, I got on the site yesterday to have a look and had a good laugh along with a flood of memories. I must confess my memory was a bit foggy regarding those days but started to come back after reading the stories on the site. Many thanks to Glenda for ringing me up to let me know about things. Sounds like the reunion was a great success. I will certainly try to attend the next one.
After the Grad festivities(which I do believe involved the destruction a car) of 78, I worked as an elevator and escalator mechanic for a year or so while waiting to join the Airforce. I joined in 1979 and after finishing pilot training, flew F 18 Hornets and Buffalo aircraft. Folloing the Airforce in 1990, I moved to Vancouver and started flying with Canada 3000. We had two kids during this time,a boy and a girl. Tommy and Anna, they are both here in vancouver attending point grey high school. They live with me part time and are good kids, we have a lot of fun togrther. They are a huge part of my life. One of the things I have found remarkable over the years is how parenting has changed since our time.....
Canada 3000 failed shortly after 9-11 and sent my life into a bit of a tail spin(excuse the pun). I was able to secure a job commuting to Korea working for Asiana airlines. This was early in 2002, at this time we also decided to attempt some real esate developing. I had always dabbled in real estate, my first purchase being a little house on the west side for $17,000 in 1976, (boy, the numbers have changed a bit since then), but got into it in a larger way in 02 and have not looked back. We just started the demolition for a 16 unit town house project in the Dunbar area this week.
I messed around in a few other flying jobs for the next few years but decided to join Air Canada last year. We love it out here and hope to stay . My folks and sister are still in Saskatoon and I hope to travel out there more often in the future. It was great seeing all the photos, I will try and attatch some of my own.
Thats all for now hope to see you all in five years.
It has been great reading everyones updates and I hope more people will update the site.
